Educational Development

Educational Development of our youth is one of Delta Sigma Theta's five programmatic thrust.  Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy was created in 1996 out of an urgent sense that bold action was needed to save our your females (ages 11-14). Beaufort Alumnae Chapter maintains an active Delta Academy the months of October - June. The Delta GEMS program is a natural outgrowth and expansion of the Delta Academy. Delta GEMS continues to nourish the growth of female girls ages 14-18. Our Delta GEMS program instills academic excellence and provides tools to promote academic success, college readiness, and life lessons. Please complete the form below if you have a young female (14-18) interested in participating in this program.

The EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) program is designed to refocus the efforts of Delta Sigma Theta with the support and action of other major organizations, on the plight of African-American males. Beaufort Alumnae Chapter is proud to have an active EMBODI program that addresses issues of leadership, academic success, and college readiness.
