May Week Activities 2026

May Week is a national program of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. that was created at Delta’s second National Convention in 1920 at Wilberforce University. May Week is a week in May that is set aside each year for programs, highlighting academic and professional achievements and the events which emphasize the importance of higher education in the community, especially for Black women. Activities are created through the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, which was established in 1955.

for use in Beaufort and Jasper Counties.

​In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we will support local high school students in Beaufort and Jasper Counties by donating art supplies to promote mental wellness through creative expression. This initiative emphasizes the benefits of art therapy, encouraging students to engage in activities such as painting, drawing, and sculpting to enhance their psychological, physical,and emotional well-being. In addition, the committee will honor the memory of Jordan Johnson, a young art major whose passing had a profound impacton her family and the local youth community.

BAC Pan Hellenic committee will present a basket of care items and snacks to the Keyserling Cancer Center for breast cancer patients undergoing chemo treatment.

Economic Development Committee will host a Financial Fair with several vendors speaking on the State of Women in Finance. This event is open to the public.
